Parking, paid, free, large and small lots

Parking in Newport can frustrating as it tends to be a very busy place in the summer. Whether you’ve have booked a sail during high season, or are just looking to park close to downtown, our favorite parking spots are located in the interactive map on the left. Note the useful options on the title bar of the map, such as Legend, and Full Screen.

Be sure to allow time to try a couple of spots and to walk down to the Oldport Launch dock (located at the On Watch Sailing icon:
1 Sayers Wharf, Newport, RI 02840).

Blue icons are convenient. They are paid and tend to fill up rapidly.

Orange icons are also paid and are more likely to be available on a busy day.

Maroon icons are free. Often the free parking around Toro Park is available before noon.

*Tip: If you use a paid lot, ask the attendant if there are any local businesses that will validate your parking pass.

There is also street parking along many streets in Newport. Be very careful to read the signs, many are locals only in the evening or have time limits. Hopefully this map helps you discover where to park in Newport!
